Chapter 1: Scope and Administration
The provisions of this code shall apply to the construction, alteration, movement, enlargement, replacement, repair, equipment, use and occupancy, location, maintenance, removal and demolition of every building or structure or any appurtenances connected or attached to such buildings or structures.
101.1 Title
These regulations shall be known as the Fire Code of San Andreas, hereinafter referred to as "this code."
Chapter 2: General Precautions
This chapter outlines the fundamental fire safety requirements applicable to all premises. Includes regulations regarding open flames, combustible waste, and clearance of vegetation.
201 Open Flames
Open flames, fire, and burning in quantities that may cause a fire hazard shall be prohibited outside of approved enclosures or designated burning areas.
Chapter 3: Emergency Planning and Preparedness
Requirements for fire safety and evacuation plans, emergency evacuation drills, and employee training.
- Assembly occupancies with an occupant load of 300 or more must have an approved fire safety plan.
- Educational occupancies must conduct fire drills at least once per month while in session.
Chapter 4: Fire Protection and Life Safety Systems
This chapter specifies where fire protection systems are required and the maintenance requirements for those systems.
401 Automatic Sprinkler Systems
An automatic sprinkler system shall be provided throughout all buildings with a Group A (Assembly) fire area greater than 12,000 square feet.
402 Portable Fire Extinguishers
Portable fire extinguishers shall be installed in all occupancies in accordance with standard placement guidelines (max travel distance 75ft).
